You can find some really great fixer-uppers in the Victorian District.  There are 50 blocks of Victorian and Queen Anne Victorian frame homes built between 1870 and 1920.  The newly renovated Starland Design District is in the area and is a good example of what these homes could be. 

In 1910 this new suburb of the downtown district began development.  Even today, this very charming and viberant neighborhood attracts young professionals and families.  Beautifully tree lined streets makes this one of the areas most sought after communities in Savannah. 

Two major malls, national chain resturants and lots of shopping centers make this Savannah's major business district.  A number of residential pocket neighborhoods can be found from DeRenne Ave. to I-95.  Home styles include ranch, cottage and patio along with condo's and apartment complexes. Bacon Park provides an excellent 500 acre recreational facility including tennis and golf.

The beauty and charm of Savannah can be found throughout the city.  Founded in 1733, General James Oglethorpe developed a unique layout for downtown Savannah with a repeated pattern of connected neighborhoods. Streets and buildings are organized around a central open space or square.  The use of these squares is unique in urban planning in that they allow for more green space in Savannah than in any other city layout in history.  Each square is approx. one acre in size.  The streets bounding each square allows for uninterrupted movement of traffic.  Internal streets are interrupted by the squares to create a pedestrian-friendly walkway.

Originally there were 24 beautifully designed and now historic squares.  After 276 years, all but two of those squares remain, having been designated a National Historic Landmark in 1966.  The company I work for, Landmark 24 Realty, Inc., chose to honor this architectural legacy with it's notable name. 

Isle of Hope.  One of the most beautiful streets in Savannah is along Bluff Drive. Lined with huge moss coverd oaks trees, two-story homes on one side and the river on the other...it is picture perfect.

Dutch Island.  Upscale gated community, traditional style homes with lovely manicured lawns.

Long Point.  Small residential gated community ideally located bewteen downtown, southside and the beach.

Wilming Island & Talahi Islands.  Nice combination of residential and commercial development.  Located between downtown and the beach.

Skidaway Island.  Upscale gated community with amenities including tennis courts, golf courses, clubhouses and marina.

Tybee Island.  One of our most popular barrier islands with 3 miles of surf and sand.  Once considered a place that time forgot is now a favored vacation destination.  Tybee has about 3,500 full-time residents.
